Effective January 1, 2018 medical benefits begin on the first day of the month following the date of hire.
Dependents are considered legally married spouses, biological children, adopted children, step-children. Other child relatives may also be considered dependents. Spouse's may be the same sex or opposite sex.
Biological, adopted, and step-children may be covered through the end of the month in which they turn 26, and may married or single. Dependents over the age of 26 who are incapable of self-support due to mental or physical incapacity incurred prior to age 26 may also remain on the plan with a disability certification.
Other Child Relatives include grandchildren, legal wards, step-grandchild or other dependent child relative. To qualify as an eligible dependent, they must reside in your home, be unmarried, and not eligible for coverage under their own employer’s plan.
