As a non-exempt employee of Salisbury University, you will be eligible for a tuition benefit once you have completed your probationary period. Tuition benefits apply for courses taken at any teaching campus within the University System of Maryland (USM). Full-time employees receive 100% tuition remission for up to eight credit hours per semester. For employees working on at least a 50% basis, tuition remission is proportionate to the percent of time employed.
After completing two years of service, a spouse and/or dependent children are then eligible for a tuition benefit towards a first undergraduate degree. With full-time employment, the tuition benefit is 100% if the spouse or dependent is attending the home institution. For employees working on at least a 50% basis, tuition remission is proportionate to the percent of time employed. The tuition benefit is reduced to 50% if the spouse or dependent attends another USM School.
Some exclusions apply, so please refer to the Board of Regents Policy VII-4.10 and VII-4.20 for detailed information. Links to each policy are available in the Quick Reference Guide (PDF). Tuition remission forms are available in Human Resources or on the HR website.
