Annual Leave - Exempt

Annual leave is accrued each pay period and may be used for various reasons, the most common being vacation.  Exempt employees accrue annual leave based on hours worked and years of service.  In general, full-time employees accrue 22 days per year from the first through 20th year of service.  25 days of annual leave are accrued at 21 years of service.  For those employed on a part-time basis, annual leave is pro-rated based on the percentage employed.  Annual leave may be carried forward each calendar year up to a maximum of 50 days.

Sick Leave - Exempt

Sick leave is accrued each pay period based on hours worked.  In general, full-time employees accrue 15 days of sick leave each year.  For those employed on a part-time basis, sick leave is pro-rated based on the percent employed.  Sick leave may be carried forward each calendar year without limitations.

Personal Leave - Exempt

Exempt employees receive 3 days of personal leave each calendar year.  Personal leave is porportionate to the percentage employed and may not be carried forward each year.

Holiday Leave - Exempt

Employees earn 14 paid holidays per calendar year (15 in an election year).  Part-time employees accrue holiday leave based on the percent employed.  Please refer to the Annual Holiday Calendar to determine when holidays are observed and the timeframe in which holidays must be taken.  A link to the Holiday Calendar is included in the Quick Reference Guide.
