Health Benefits - 7 - Contractual Medical Intro

Medical benefits are available to you and your eligible dependents through CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare or Kaiser.  CareFirst and United Healthcare offers an EPO and PPO Plan, while Kaiser is an Integrated Health Management Plan.  Please note, Kaiser is not available in this area.  Routine vision and behavioral health coverage is included with each medical plan.  Referrals are not needed for either company or plan type.  In general, all options under each plan type cover the same services.  However, the participating provider network for the plans are different.  Be sure to carefully review what is covered by each plan type, as well as which providers and facilities participate with the various plan networks.  This information is available in the Benefits Guide, as well as each plan's website.  Premiums are based on the vendor, the plan option selected, and the number of people covered on the plan.
